Feb 8, 2016

Welp. This week was much better! Much better.
We got to work every day this week except Wednesday (because the assistants needed help with their presentation). But man. Great week!
Starting off with the work part! The office is way better. We all want to work and are having a blast together. Love all these elders. Now to the field! whoo! 2 baptisms this week babay!! Jia and her son Manuel! They are so good. Really chosen and ready. Thennnn speaking of chosen and ready!...#ilovefastsundays!!! Sunday we found a chosen! His name is Jose, he's 37, his wife is in Spain right now, he's got 2 kids, and we contacted him and he is amazing! His aunt is a member and she lives in Boston and she's been a member for 50 years and he's like, "if someone has been doing the same thing for 50 years and still is doing it, it's got to be good!" Ha! So he said it's time to see what it's like and he said, "of course I'm coming to church!" Tender mercy from the Lord right there. So interesting to see this part of the mission and God's power. Because honestly we work like 4 hours every day during the week. Some days we don't even leave the office. Sunday is like the day to work and work. And it's the day where you're just exhausted. So the Lord (what I think) just wants to see the faith of the elders in the office and wants us to see if they're willing to work when they don't want to and talk with everyone and if they show and convince the Lord they want success, no matter the circumstances, the Lord will give them (us) miracles. Because honestly it's like you need to find the chosen because there's no time to work! So that's been a real eye-opener and has made me humble.
Also! We get to listen to things on the computer because we're there all day so this week I just listened to "Becoming True Millennials" by Pres. Nelson, the one he did for young adults like a month ago...ya, I think it should be considered as one of those amazing history talks like "Beware of Pride" by Ezra Taft Benson. Because it was so stinkin' good,, I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"Ask your Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, how He feels about you and your mission here on earth."
"But the Lord is able to do His own work, and I was privileged to watch the unfolding of one miracle after another - always, and only, after I had brought my best thinking, my most courageous efforts, and my most fervent prayers to the task."
"How will you accomplish the impossible? By doing whatever it takes to strengthen your faith in Jesus Christ by increasing your understanding of the doctrine taught in His restored church and by relentlessly seeking truth. As a true millennial, anchored in pure doctrine, when you are asked to do impossible things, you will be able to step forward with faith and dogged persistence and cheerfully do all that lies in your power to fulfill the purposes of the Lord."
"I promise you that as you follow Jesus Christ, you will find sustained peace and true joy. As you keep your covenants with increasing precision, and as you defend the Church and kingdom of God on the earth today, the Lord will bless you with strength and wisdom to accomplish the impossible."
"My third recommendation: Learn how to access the power of heaven."
"Prayer is a key. Pray to know what to stop doing and what to start doing. Pray to know what to add to your environment and what to remove so the Spirit can be with you in abundance. Plead with the Lord for the gift of discernment. Then live and work to be worthy to receive that gift so that when confusing events arise in the world, you will know exactly what is true and what is not."
"Serve with love. Loving service to those who have lost their way or who are wounded in spirit opens your heart to personal revelation."
"Now, as an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ, I bless each one of you as though I had my hands upon your heads, with the ability to become the True Millennial you were born to be. I bless you to have the desire and ability to learn your true identity and purpose, that you will expect and prepare to do "impossible" things, that you will be undaunted in your efforts to learn how to access the powers of heaven to help you solve your problems and answer your questions. And I bless you to follow the prophets with exactness, to feel peace in your heart as you do so, I bless you to know and feel how much the Lord loves you and how much confidence He has in you."

So those are some of my favorite quotes from him. So much revelation from this talk.
Well! Love you guys! Pray for our investigators! Love this Gospel!
