Feb. 15th 2016

So there's a ton to talk about but first I want to talk about my goals I have here in the office. So in that last talk I talked about by Elder Nelson, it talked about us doing impossible things. And he told me I can do the impossible if I do whatever it takes to strengthen my faith in the Lord by increasing my understanding of the doctrine and to relentlessly seek truth. So I've decided that I am going to study Preach My Gospel like never before and memorize and study the scrips like never before. I've been diligent in my studies throughout the mission but with more time to study, I've put a lot more goals involving my studies and really knowing the doctrine. Also increasing my ability to speak Spanish.:) Good stuff.
So! Week full of great stuff. Pure miracles. So 1st update on Jose...couldn't go to church but we visited him Sunday and he's doing good. He's been gone all week so not much to say about him!
But ready for this!? 1st. Cool thing I learned. So in Jesus the Christ it was talking about how the Father and Son are one, and mostly everyone knows about those scrips, but then I learned something that I guess I knew, but I didn't... James E. Talmage explained that Christ and Heavenly Father are so in One that if Heavenly Father came to the earth under the circumstances and time when Jesus came, He would have done the exact same things Jesus did. It was way cool when that clicked!
2nd! Work time. So on Wednesday Elder Corey and Elder Terrazzo told me Brayan is doing the Temple work for his dad who died a while ago and you have no idea how cool it was to hear that and how happy it made me. Then miracle alert...on Thursday! We got home late from the office because of traffic at 5:30 and we were really tired and we immediately left to work and lo and behold, a car flags us down, we go over and a sister explains to us how they just moved from Choluteca and she wanted to know what time church started. We told her and she was with her daughter and husband and we found out the husband isn't a member and has never gone to church and they just got married (yes, actually married in Honduras people) 2 months ago. So we put an appointment with them, went over, had a great lesson and they are awesome!! And the husband came to church! Ah! Going over today to see what's up. Familia Orsoto.
Then, found out familia Portillo is GETTING MARRIED NEXT WEEK!!! WHOOOOO!!!!
Then on Friday we had to drop off supplies in La Vega (my cherished home) and it was lunch time so we got to eat the steaks from familia Ordonez!! It was so crazy seeing and talking with them! And I'm so mad because I stinkin' forgot to take a pic! But it was awesome. They are planning to get sealed before July so I'm hoping I can be there! And then I found out my favorite young men from Jardines, Gabriel and David, found out their mom is getting baptized!!! Just tons of great stuff this week. And to top it all off I got kissed on the head by a gay, drunk, rich guy on Valentines day... haha weird stuff.
So as well, Elder Duncan invited us to write a letter to Heavenly Father this week. And I did it and it was one of the coolest/most spiritual things ever. So I invite you to take some time and write our Heavenly Father a letter.
This week I'm thankful for all the people that went to church this week, a great week, God's timing, being a missionary, for that last contact, for prayer and my wonderful mother's talk on it that I totally forgot to talk about! (dang it), pics on my planner, for oreo's and milk, for my g-parents the Mimster and Nanster and the two Papsters, for the stories of the Book of Mormon, andddd for the fact that Christ overcame death.
Love you guys!
