That awkward moment when you realize if you were a sister missionary you'd be coming home this week... But if I was a sister missionary I wouldn't have been able to see all the miracles that happened this week!
Man this week was nuts! And one thing I've really learned to love and enjoy is walking home with people that just got baptized. I don't know, it just makes your heart so grateful to God and makes you so humble to see the process of knocking on a door, meeting a stranger, the stranger letting you teach something AND come back, and then their progress, and then they make a covenant with God at the waters of baptism. Then you're walking with them home and there's nothing like it. God is so cool.
But ok. So the plan was to have 4 baptisms. We ended up with 2. And I am so happy. So Elber got baptized with Anthony.
1st - Elver...hahahah I still can't believe this guy is real. You guys wouldn't believe it. After he got baptized he gave a testimony that would've had Elder Holland giving an applause. All the members were just shocked at this guy. I wish you guys could see him. And we knocked on his door a little more than 2 weeks ago! There's no words to explain how amazing he is and how much I love him.
2nd - Anthony! Si Hombre! He's 13 and was ready freddy for his baptism! Told us this week that he prayed and got a warm feeling about everything. He's so cool.
So with Nubia something happened that she called and told us 5 hours before the baptism. That was a bummer but she'll get baptized soon. Now with Brayan!! So he didn't get baptized but that's ok! He's getting baptized this week! What was so amazing is he told us something that totally could in the New Era! haha! So he explained to us a little before we contacted him washing clothes he offered a prayer and just asked God to send messengers from the true church of God... then we came. :) And at first he was a little skeptical because of what people say about Mormon's but after a couple visits, he knew for sure this was his answer! Man this guy is so brave and amazing! And he wants to repent and do what is right. He's so honest and pure.
This change was full of trials, frustration, hard work with no stop, and pure miracles. Then kids that have been members for years, the parents are starting to come to church and let us teach them and just man... so many things. Also, we found a family 2 weeks ago when we found Elber and the wife went to the baptism AND church. And the husband is reading the things we leave them and they are progressing! I don't know but maybe it's the family!! Familia Partillo!
Speaking of families I don't know if you've seen the Liana or Ensign for this month but there's a message from Paul B Pieper about the 3 realitites of life and the 3rd talked about having kids and he said that when God gave the commandment to have kids it was just like any other commandment, Sabbath Day, tithing, etc. And it shocked me to think of it like that. #randomthoughtfromelderjohnson
But so we find out if we have changes in 2 hours and I'm freaking out because everyone is telling me I'm going to the office and I DO NOT want to go there. But not even that, we have so much work to do and people to love in this area! Ah I'm dying!! But have a great week!!
This week I'm thankful for miracles, Elver, Brayan, Antony, answered prayers, a heart, this change, medicine, alfredo sauce, a microwave, that Elder Vale taught me how to make a cake in a microwave, my Savior, work, my house, my ward here, all the members, my Savior Jesus Christ, the prophet Joseph Smith, anddddd my mission.
